Process of making clay tablets/tiles for 3D work.
I made clay templates and produced latex rubber moulds from which I subsequently draw off 100 plaster tablets/tiles. These images are a random sample of the process. There were a total of 10 different tiles, 10 of each type were finally made.
With this good weather, they are drying off well and I will begin other operations soon.
I constructed the wooden frame/box from recycled cedar.
This is the third such type of3D work I have done, continuing with grid concepts and this time using a striped down horizontal and vertical theme.
Since completing the 100 tiles it’s enjoyable seeing them ‘boxed up’ and imagining the next operations, certainly, the making of the tiles, the raw material for the work, delivers a satisfying pro generator buzz and now I am excited about each tiles individual and unique quality. I am sanding them now…next paint…
