this was a good process, clean, precise and slow the pasting of 100 squares of 10cm square watercolour paper as a base for laying clay onto with a view to using watercolour pigment….
I derive great pleasure working with the scale of metre square because although i am accustomed/not commonly noticing the size, I am always amazed by the maths of it. 10x10cm squares =100 squares. I think it is a dynamic potential which unzips/unpacks when mounted and viewed, taken from the horizontal to vertical. This links in with the prospect of a larger studio space being in the offing at Kawai Purapura.
